City water mains are much wider than the drain pipe under your bathroom sink. More can pass through the city water main in less time. A television program is "media rich," with images, sound, music. It needs a wide pipe. The Internet is still a relatively narrow pipe. Information on the Internet cannot be as "media rich" as a television program or even a CD-ROM.
